2012 Pilates4Care Charity Appeal

Pilates Helps Cancer Sufferers

Members of Pilates4Life raised over £500 for the Lynda Jackson Macmillan Cancer Centre (LJMC) at Mount Vernon Hospital. Coinciding with the release of “Skyfall”, Creative Director, Mary Clarke-Mills performed a grueling, James Bond-themed pilates routine 10 times over three days to raise the money.
Pilates is an exercise regime popular with celebrities, sportsmen and ordinary people and according to Clarke-Mills, “Pilates has proved to be effective in the rehabilitation of cancer patients. With over 150 members, many have been touched by this disease and it’s wonderful to be able to give something back to a centre that does so much for sufferers and their families”.

Accepting the cheque, Sue Hordyj, of Lynda Jackson Macmillan Centre said, “I am always impressed at the innovative things Pilates4Life members do to raise money for our Centre”.
